Diane McKeel
Diane McKeel, Executive Director

Diane has worked for the past nine years for Bell Senior Living. She began as the Director of Sales for Homeplace of New Bern and then as the Director of Sales for McCarthy Court. Diane is currently the Executive Director at McCarthy Court, another Bell Senior Living Community. Diane holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She has devoted her 25 year career to working with senior citizens. Diane resides in New Bern with her husband and son.


Diane Phillips
Diane Phillips, Director of Activities

Diane Phillips has been the Director of Activities at McCarthy Court for the past five years. She has ten years of experience coordinating activities in the senior living industry and is responsible for planning daily activities, special events, and leading exercise groups. Diane is married with two adult children and one new grandchild. She loves working with senior citizens and looks forward to coming to work every day. Diane’s hobbies include reading and playing with her grandson.


Daena Hoey
Daena Hoey, Director of Activities - Building II

Daena recently joined the McCarthy Court staff as Activities Director for Building II.  Previously, she worked as a Project Manager for a major software development company in Northern Virginia.  She has a business degree from the University of Maryland.  Daena has been an active volunteer for the New Bern Chamber of Commerce, where she won an award for Volunteer of the Year in 2001.  She is married with one grown son.  In her spare time, Daena loves to cook and entertain.


Barb Pearson
Barb Pearson, Administrative Assistant

Barb Pearson joined the McCarthy Court team in 2009 as the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director.  Prior to joining the staff she worked for a major oil company as the Director of Information Services and Records Management.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Education and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences. She has been an active volunteer with seniors for the past eleven years.  Barb and her husband have two daughters and four grandchildren.  In her free time, she loves to travel, take photographs, cook and garden.


Dee Morris
Dee Morris, Business Office Manager

Dee Morris is the Business Office Manager for McCarthy Court Building 1. She is responsible for accounts payable, providing information, coordinating services for residents and families, and answering the phone. Dee has eighteen years of experience in the senior living industry. She is a native of New Bern, is happily married, and has two grown daughters, seven grandchildren and an eighth on the way. Dee enjoys crossword puzzles and adores her cat, Phoebe.


Pat Griffin
Pat Griffin, Business Office Manager

Pat Griffin is the Business Office Manager for McCarthy Court Building 2. Pat joined the McCarthy Court team on opening day and is responsible for payroll, billing, and assisting residents and families with information and services. She has nine years of experience working with senior citizens. Pat is a native of New Jersey but has lived in New Bern for the past seven years. She and her husband have two children and four grandchildren. Pat enjoys interacting with people, sewing and cooking.


Gwen Hicks
Gwen Hicks, Director Food & Beverages

Gwen Hicks is the Director of Food and Beverage Services.  She has been working in the food industry for 18 years. She has been cooking for senior populations for 16 years and has been at McCarthy Court for the past 5 years. She loves to cook and looks forward to coming to work every day. Gwen has been happily married for 26 years. She and her husband have two daughters. When she’s not cooking, she loves to travel and shop.


Art Cobb
Art Cobb, Director of Maintenance

Art Cobb has been the Director of Maintenance at McCarthy Court Building 1 for four years. Prior to joining the team he was employed as a carpenter and worked at a hardware store. He has lived in New Bern for the past thirty years. Art is married with four grown children and three grandchildren. In his spare time, Art enjoys "tinkering" with wood, welding, and he loves to fish.


JJ Sireci
JJ Sireci , Director of Maintenance

JJ Sireci is the Director of Maintenance at McCarthy Court Building 2. He joined the team when the doors opened one year ago. JJ has worked with the senior population for the past five years. Previously JJ was a resident care coordinator for an assisted living community in New Bern. JJ has lived in eastern North Carolina for the past 27 years and has been happily married for the past twenty. He loves animals and bowling.


Selinda Cox
Selinda Cox, Director of Housekeeping

Selinda Cox has been working at McCarthy Court for two years and was promoted to be the Director of Housekeeping. She worked in a supervisory role for over twelve years in the hotel industry. Selinda is a native of New Bern and enjoys the daily interaction with residents.
